Ethel Wood, Taylor County, KY (1929-2012)

She was a member of a large, respected Taylor County, KY, Family. She leaves 58 direct living descendants. She was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church.

Ethel Wood, 82, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:25pmET, Sunday, February 19, 2012, in Campbellsville

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Haywood Riner and Rev. Brian Rafferty. Burial will be in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: David Hunt, Guy Anthony Wood. Jason Rainwater, Jeremy Woof, Adam Wood, Josh Wood, Cory Wood, Michael Wood, Gary Wood, and Timmy Wood.

Ethel Wood, Taylor County, KY (1929-2012)

Ethel Wood was the daughter of the late James Wesley "Went" Dile and Alta Zena Rogers Dile. She was born in Green County, Kentucky, July 28, 1929. She died Sunday, February 19, 2012, in Campbellsville, KY, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to David Wood January 22, 1949. He preceded her in death September 14, 1996.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four daughters and six sons: Helen Rainwater, Melva Wood, Sue Hunt, Norma Wright, Les Wood, Raymond Wood, George Wood, Joe Wood, Guy Wood, and Bobby Wood all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • Twenty-four great grandchildren

  • Three great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Shreve Dile, Finis Dile, J.W. Dile, Moss Dile, Sylvia Oliver, Lovie Blankenship, Geraldine Nye, and Ollie Joy.
