Jimmy Rondal (Ronnie) McIntyre, 69, (d. Feb. 16, 2012)

He was the head of a highly regarded Metcalfe County, KY, family. He was a retired framer, an employee of McMurtrey Planing Mill and McMurtrey Funeral Home. He was of the Baptist faith and a Kentucky Colonel

Jimmy Rondal (Ronnie) McIntyre, age 69, of Summer Shade died Thursday, February 16 at his home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Febuary 19 at 2pmCT at the Summer Shade Baptist Church, Summer Shade, KY, with Bro. Dexter Bacon officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation began 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, Febuary 17at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY and continues through Saturday, February 18, at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Sunday at 10amCT at the church until funeral time.



He was the son of the late Zeak and Vocal Humphrey McIntyre. He was a retired farmer and employee of the McMurtrey Planing Mill and McMurtrey Funeral Home. He was of the Baptist faith and a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Birge McIntyre and the following:
  • Two sons Gary (Shelly) McIntyre and Kenny (Marnita) McIntyre of Summer Shade

  • Two brothers : Jessie (Mamie) McIntyre of Summer Shade and Fairlee (Linda) McIntyre of Jeffersonville, IN

  • Five sisters: Dimple (Curtis) Francis of Glasgow, KY; Bonnie Shaw and Peggie (Harold) McCoy of Summer Shade, KY; Freeda (Don Allen ) Reece of Edmonton, KY; and Linda (Danny) Howell of Bowling Green, KY

  • Grandchildren Meghann, Heather, Cole, Zeak and Lucas McIntyre, Adam and Danielle Hornek and Sierra Garmon.
    • Memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department or the Summer Shade Cemetery.They may be sent to the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. 42166
