Ruby Smith, 88, of Orlando, Florida formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Terra-Vista Rehab and Health Center in Orlando, FL. Ruby was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on August 3, 1923, to the late Vesta Colson Cyphers, and the late Charles Tracy Cyphers.

Funeral services on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Randall McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Smith-Feuston Cemetery. Visitation will be 10amCT until time of service, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Ballou & Stotts funeral home.



Ruby Smith, Cumberland Co., KY (1923-2012)

Ruby Smith, was born in Cumberland County, KY on Friday, August 3, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Vesta Colson Cyphers, and the late Charles Tracy Cyphers.She died Tuesday, February 14, 2012, in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 11 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Arthur Smith; two Brothers, Barlow Cyphers; Bill Cyphers; and two sisters, Magdalene Wright, and Ida Bell Simpson.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Donna Tolliver and her husband Keith of Orlando, Florida; and Janet Mankins and her husband Mike of Orlando, Florida

  • One sister: Jewell Adams of Summer Shade, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Brian (Dedra) Curtis of Orlando, FL; Jared (Briane) Scavotto of Tarvares, FL, and Kim Curtis of Orlando, FL

  • Three great grandchildren: Trenton Curtis of Orlando, FL; and Cameron and Toby Scavotto both of Tarvares, FL

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
