Mr. Henry Ping Marr of Elizabethtown, KY, departed this life on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Facility in Hodgenville, KY

The funeral services for Mr. Henry Ping Marr will be conducted at 1pmCT, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 601 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Kelvin Edwards will be officiating. Visitation was requested from 4pm-8pmCT Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Thursday, February 16, 2012, until time of the funeral service.



Henry P. Marr, Green Co., KY (1927-2012)

Mr. Henry Ping Marr was the son of the late Willis Marr and Lydia Chaudoin Marr. He was born on Tuesday, February 22, 1927 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Monday, February 13, 2012, in Hodgenville, LaRue County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 19 days of age.

He was retired from the Civil Service having worked as a Motor Vehicle Operator, and was a WWII Veteran having served in the United State Army.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky and Shirnell Marr of Summersville, KY; Terry and Connie Marr of Summersville, H.W. and Lynn Marr of Cecilia, KY

  • Three grandsons: Brett Marr of Summersville, KY; Jodie Marr and his wife Christy of Columbia, KY; and Scott Coffey and his wife Missy of Summersville, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Rachel Marr of Greensburg, KY; Jayden Marr of Columbia, KY; and Chase Coffey of Summersville, KY

  • A brother: Lou Marr of Summersville, KY

  • A sister: Sue Marr of Radcliff, KY

  • A special friend: Aleda Thompson of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Marr was also preceded in death by two sisters: Thelma Ann Marr and Edith Graham.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at the website..
