Adair CJE Ann Melton posts salary: $77,242.71 per year CJE Ann Melton is the second local government CEO to ask to have her salary posted. Lenny Stone, the General Manager of the Columbia/Adair Utilities District was the first to do so, declaring an annual salary of $125,000 per year. The salaries are a matter of public record, but publication of them is not a requirement of Kentucky statutes. -EW By Ann Melton, Adair County Judge Executive My salary for last year was $77,242.71. I expect we will get an increase this year based on the C.P.I. increase. My salary and the salary of the County Court Clerk, County, and County Jailer are set by statute and are based on population and years of service. After the first 4 year step process all County Judge Executives, County Clerk's, Sheriff's and Jailers' make the same salary in each population group. I also receive a $300.00 expense allowance per month, which, for my office, is paid by the state.
Even though we do face economic challenges at this time, there are unequal opportunities ahead; if we have the vision to embrace them this decade will be the most progressive in our history. Thanks for the opportunity to lead, to serve. - Ann *CJE's comments re: Editorial: CAUD GM Lenny Stone makes $125,000 per year/and in our opinion worth it This story was posted on 2012-01-27 13:26:08
