Mary Helen Cochran Rodgers, 65, Casey County, KY (1946-2012)

She was a member of a large Casey County, KY family with family ties also many other localities, including Taylor, Adair and Russell Counties, KY. She was a member of the Westside Christian Church and attended Hope Ministry. She was retired after a career in food services in the Casey County, KY School District

Mary Helen Cochran Rodgers, 65, Liberty, KY, died Monday, January 16, 2012, at her residence.

Services will be at 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Marty Shakleford and Rev. Ron Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Tapscott Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty, KY.



Pallbearers: Jamie Maxwell, Ray Dunham, Joey Johnson, Jason Stearman, Jeff Lee, and Jackie Rodgers.

Honorary pallbearers: Robert and Charlie Cochran, Wayne Lee and Hernan Borda.

Mary Helen Cochran Rodgers, 65, Casey County, KY (1946-2012)

She was born in Russellville, Logan County, KY on Saturday, April 13, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Corbit Dunham and the late Christine Baskerville Dunham. She died Monday, January 16, 2012, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

She was retired after a career as a cook in the Casey County School System. She was a member of Westside Christian Church and attended Hope Ministry.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ronald Rodgers, Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Melinda (and Jamie) Maxwell of Liberty, KY

  • One son: Eddie Dwayne Cochran, Liberty, KY

  • Step children: Junetta and Mick West, Russell Springs, KY; Jeremy Rodgers, Winchester, KY; Josh Rodgers, Lexington, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hall and Andrew Maxwell

  • Four step grandchildren: Zachary and Addison Rodgers and Kelsey and Colby West

  • Two brothers: Ernest and (Shelia) Dunham, Indianapolis, IN: and Bennie Dunham, Nashville, TN

  • Two sisters: Lucille (and Melvin) Johnson, Roley, KY; and Louise (and Wayne) Stearman of Campbellsville, KY

  • Special sister in law: Patricia Lee

  • Special niece: Elaine Ford
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Denise Cochran, and one brother, Vernest Dunham.
