Virginia Mae Davis Rayburn, Waddy, KY (1923-2011)

She was a member of a large, respected Green County, KY, family. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church and was a retired retail clerk

Mrs. Virginia Mae Davis Rayburn, 88, departed this life on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her daughter's home in Waddy, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Mae Davis Rayburn will be conducted at 2pmCT, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Dale Curry and Bro. Todd Love will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Virginia Mae Davis Rayburn, Waddy, KY (1923-2011)

She was the daughter of the late William Lanis Davis and Lottie Gervis Cook Davis. She was born on August 3, 1923 in Green County, Kentucky. She departed this life on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Waddy, Kentucky. She was 88 years, three months and 28 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was also a retired retail clerk.

She united in marriage to David Smith Rayburn on March 13, 1950 who preceded her in death on November 19, 1990.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Mike Morris of Waddy, KY

  • A grandson: Justin Phillip Cleveland Morris and his wife Angela Michelle of Lexington, KY

  • A brother and two sisters-in-law: Samuel Edward and Jean Davis of Elizabethtown, KY: and Joyce Davis of Indiana

  • A sister: Margie Huffman of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Rayburn was also preceded in death by three brothers: Paul Jefferson Davis, Marshall Davis and Dr. William Harold Davis; a special friend: Edward Judd.

Memorials are suggested to Hosparus, which can be made at the funeral home.
