Iva Dean Pittman, Casey County, KY (1928-2011)

She was a native of Ohio and a member of a large, respected family. She leaves 32 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mary Queen Catholic Church.

Iva Dean Pittman of Lexington passed away Saturday November 5, 2011 at St Joseph Hospital. She was 83.

Funeral services are 11amET/10amCT, Thursday November 10, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 21 N. Wallace Wilkinson Boulevard, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Patrick Dolan officiating. Burial will be at Pittman Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday, November 9, 2011, 6pm-9pmET/5pm8pmCT, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was born in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio on Tuesday April 24, 1928, She was the daughter of the late Otis C. and Nannie Godbey Ross. She died Saturday, November 5, 2011, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 83 years, six months, and 11 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Mary Queen Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Pittman and brother, Eugene Ross.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Dr. George Michael Pittman of Lexington, KY; and Gregory Mark Pittman of Lexington, KY

  • Three daughters: Sandra Karen Pittman of Lexington, KY; Deborah Kay Pittman of Lexington, KY; and Yvonne Carol Henley of Nicholasville, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Mary Lou Thomas of Cynthiana and Carol Jeanette Barker of Cincinnati, Ohio
