COLUMBIA, KY - The NAIA Women's Soccer Game of the Week did not disappoint as top-ranked Lindsey Wilson College and No. 8-ranked Martin Methodist (TN) College played to a 2-2 draw tonight at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The Blue Raiders grabbed an early lead but ultimately needed a goal in the 61st minute to secure the tie and move to 14-0-2 on the season. Lindsey Wilson completes its regular season with bookend ties - the Blue Raiders opened the 2011 season with a1-1 tie with Spring Arbor (Mich.) University in mid-August.

Martin Methodist moves to 11-1-2 with the draw.

Lindsey Wilson grabbed the 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute of the back-and-forth affair.

Senior Ida Gregersen gathered the ball near the top of the penalty box and poked it past a RedHawk defender and into the path of a streaking Laerke Michaelsen. The freshman one-timed the ball past the charging RedHawk goalkeeper Hanit Schwarz to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilsons lead lasted a little more than eight minutes when Martin Methodists Mor Efraim scored the equalizer in the 31st minute on an unassisted goal. Efraim scored off a misplayed ball by the Blue Raider defense that left her one-on-one against LWC goalkeeper Jordan Morrison in the penalty area.

The match would remain tied until the 55th minute when Efraim would strike again.

Martin Methodists Yalu Borbolla started the play by dribbling the ball from near midfield about 10 yards before serving into the box. Efraim slipped behind the Blue Raider defense and popped the ball over Morrison who was charging off her line. The goal is Efraims team-leading 16th of the season.

Lindsey Wilson tied the match at 2-2 six minutes later as junior Mia Persson scored on a penalty kick following a foul in the box. The goal is Perssons team-leading 12th this season.

Over the final 30 minutes of the second half and into the two overtimes, both teams had limited opportunities to score the game-winner. Lindsey Wilson had just two shots over the final 50 minutes of action while the RedHawks had four.

For the match, the two teams each accumulated 10 shots. Martin Methodist put five shots on target while the Blue Raiders had two.

Morrison ended the night with three saves, including two in the first overtime while Schwarz failed to collect a save.

Saturdays tie moves the all-time series to 5-5-2. -CHRIS WELLS.
