She was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY family. She was a retired machine operator and factory worker

Thelma A. Harvey age 93 years a resident of Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY passed away Thursday October 20, 2011 at 2:05 PM in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, after several weeks illness.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2pmCT, at the Antioch Cemetery, 8147 Burkesville Road, Sparksville, KY with Bro. Troy Elmore the officiating clergy. Visitation will be after 11amCT, on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.



Thelma A. Harvey, Adair County, KY (1917-2011)

She was born Friday, December 14, 1917 in Sparksville, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late:Logan and Ola Delk Murphy of Adair County, KY. She died Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Frank Henson in 1971 and Edwin Harvey in 2004.

Survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Frank Henson of Oakboro, North Carolina; and Larry Henson of Joliet, IL

  • Two daughters: Sondra Morris Shafer of Ashburn, VA; Yolanda Ingram of Allen, TX

  • Three sisters: Thera Hickerson of New Albany, IN; Joyce Murphy of Albuquerque, NM; and Ann Tucker of Campbellsville, KY.

  • Six grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Milburn, Russell, Bill, G.B., Paul and Boyce Murphy, Mable Williams, Maedell Baker, Cleo Snieder, Charity Sallee.

Mrs. Harvey was of the Baptist faith and was a retired machine operator and factory worker.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
