Jackson L. Swears, Taylor Co., KY native (1935-2011)

He was retired from General Electric in Louisville, KY. A veteran, he will be accorded full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard at his burial in Lebanon National Cemetery, Lebanon, KY

Jackson L. Swears, 76, of Mt. Washington, son of the late Clarence L. Swears and Ada Jackson Polley Swears, was born in Taylor Co., KY July 4, 1935. He died at 3:18 A.M., Saturday, August 13, 2011, in Mt. Washington. Age: 76

Visitation will be 5pm-8pmET/4pm-7pmET, Sunday, August 14, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY. Graveside services will be at Monday, August 15, 2011, 1:30pmET/12:30pmCT, at the Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Highway 208, Lebanon, KY, by Bro. Doug Strader and Bro. Robert Boston, with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.



Jackson L. Swears, Taylor Co., KY native (1935-2011)

Jackson L. Swears was the son of the late Clarence L. Swears and Ada Jackson Polley Swears. He was born in Taylor Co., KY, Thursday, July 4, 1935. He died in Mt. Washington, Bullitt Co., KY, Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

He was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville, KY.

He united in marriage to Kodelia H. Boston February 8, 1958.

Besides his wife, Kodelia Boston Swears of Mt. Washington, he is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Jeffrey Lynn Swears and Barry Gene Swears and wife, Heather of Louisville, KY and Roger Alan Swears of Coxs Creek, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Thirteen great-grandchildren

  • Two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Swears and Louise Polley, both of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Lee Johnson in May, 1995; one brother, Clarence G.(Tenny) Swears October 1, 2010 and one half-sister and two half-brothers: Virginia Phelps, Benny Polley, and James Polley.
