Mrs. Bercie Ellen Wray Fletcher, Burkesville, KY (1923-2011)

She was a member of a large, respected Cumberland Co., KY, family. She leaves 32 direct living descendants. She was a member of The Casey Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Highland Chapel United Methodist Church. She was an excellent Musician, A homemaker, former employee of Bluegrass Egg Company, and one of the first employees working in the kitchen at Cumberland Valley Manor

Mrs. Bercie Ellen Wray Fletcher, age 87, of Burkesville passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at The Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday July 27, 2011 at 2pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY, with burial in The Burkesville Cemetery. Visitation is after 3pmCT, Tuesday, July 26, 2011, until the funeral hour Wednesday.



Mrs. Bercie Ellen Wray Fletcher, Burkesville, KY (1923-2011)

She was born in the Lewis Creek Community of Cumberland Co., KY, on Friday, August 31, 1923. She was the daughter of Willie "Will" and Millie Dicken Wray. She died Saturday, July 23, 2011, in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY, at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

She was a member of The Casey Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Highland Chapel United Methodist Church in recent years.

She was an excellent Musician, A homemaker, former employee of Bluegrass Egg Company, and one of the first employees working in the kitchen at Cumberland Valley Manor.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Fletcher, her Granddaughter, Caryn Fletcher, her Brothers, Alva Wray, Travis Wray, Printes Wray and Lee Wray, her sisters Bertie Carter and Anna Ooten.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her sons: Charles (and Ann) Fletcher of Monticello, KY; and Aaron (and Julia Faye) Fletcher and Keith (and Wanda) Fletcher both of Bowling Green, KY

  • A brother: Eldred (and Penny) Wray of Burkesville,KY;

  • Her sister in law: Grace Wray of Burkesville, KY

  • Her grandchildren: Caryl Ann Fletcher, Derrick Fletcher, Angela Havener, Jonathan Fletcher, James Fletcher, Scott Fletcher, Jeremy Fletcher and Shannon Fletcher

  • Great grandchildren: Briton Roberts, Elizabeth Petty, Jessica Lindsey, Morgan Lindsey, Preston and Ashley Havener, Christopher Havener, Tamara and Cameron Havener, Angelica Havener, Andrew Fletcher, Presley Fletcher, Addison Fletcher, Jackson Fletcher, Preston Fletcher, Tucker Fletcher, Lawson Fletcher, Jackson Fletcher and Reagan Fletcher

  • Two great great grandchildren
