Louise Harper Garrett, 90, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. July 16, 2011)

She was the matriarch of a large, highly respected East Metcalfe Co., KY, family. She leaves 52 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and a member of the Society Hill Baptist Church

Louise Harper Garrett age 90 of Edmonton died Saturday July 16, 2011 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will at 1pmCT, Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Society Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the funeral home.



She was a homemaker and a member of the Society Hill Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Edis and Ermon Jessie Harper.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: William Richard (Delpha) Garrett of Summer Shade, KY; Tommy (Cindy) Garrett, and Howard (Teresa) Garrett, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Three daughters: Helen (Jim) Dunbar, Jean (Donald) Harbison, and Dottie Barton, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Two sisters: Dorothy Harper, and Margaret Barrett all of Edmonton, KY

  • One brother: Clayton Harper of Louisville, KY

  • Seventeen grandchildren

  • Twenty-one great grandchildren

  • Eight great great grandchildren

  • And several nieces and nephews
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Otha D. Garrett; two sons James Alton and Roger Dale Garrett; two sisters, Jeanette Sexton, and Pat Robinson; and one brother, Elam Harper.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
