Daniel Cody Matney, 14, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Monday, July 4, 2011.

The funeral services for Daniel Cody Matney will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Ashley Shuffett will be officiating. Visitation is requested 3pm-9pmCT, Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Cody Reynolds, Noah Slinker, Dustin Ray, Matt Sherrill, Jeron Thornton, Isaiah Matney, Colton Bush, and Luke Westmoreland.

Honorary pallbearers; Green County High School Freshman Class - Class of 2015.

Daniel Cody Matney of Greensburg, KY, was born on Saturday, December 7, 1996 in Taylor Co., KY, and departed this life on Monday, July 4, 2011. He was 14 years, six months and 27 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a student and was an upcoming Green County High School Freshman-Class of 2015.

Survivors include his parents and step-parents, Daniel and Amanda Matney of Greensburg, KY, and and Tonya Absher Matney and Jason Goad of Greensburg, KY

  • Grandparents: Danny and Patsy Matney, Sandy Bell Pippin all of Greensburg, KY; and David Absher of Summersville, KY

  • Great grandparents: Mary Meadows of Sulphur Well, KY; and Thelma Creason of Campbellsville, KY

  • Step grandparents: Larry and Judy Dupps of Greensburg, KY

  • Three step-sisters: Ashley Bowles, Audrey Judd and Laura Goad all of Greensburg, KY

  • A step brother: Channing Coates of Caneyville, KY

  • And a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Cody's Monument, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
