She was a native of Clay Co., KY, and a member of a large, respected Russell Co., KY, family. She was a member of the Jamestown Church of God and was a former employee of Western Electric

Sarah Perdue, 77, Airport RD, Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amCT, Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Raymond Costello and Scott Eubank the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Russell County Memorial Gardens, 609 N HWY 127, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the funeral home.



Sarah Perdue, Russell Co., KY (1934-2011)Sarah Perdue was born Tuesday, March 13, 1934, in Manchester, Clay Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Kate Philpot Gregory and the late Chester Gregory. She died Friday, June 24, 2011, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 11 days.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Wayne Perdue, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Laretta Fay Pierce, and Lanetta Sue Popplewell, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Craig Pierce, Kim Popplewell, and Derek Popplewell

  • Six great grandchildren: Montanna Grider, Hunter Grider, Ben Pierce, Briley Jones, Ethan Jones, and Kaelyn Jewel Pierce.

  • One brother: henderson Gregory, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sisters: Lou Johnson, Russell Springs, KY; Lil Spearman, Indianapolis, IN; and Mary Huff, Russell Springs, KY
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Gregory; and four brothers, Hugh Gregory, Fount Gregory, J.B. Gregory, and Orie Gregory.

She was a member of the Jamestown Church of God and was a former employee of Western Electric.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
