Gene Cornett passed away Monday June 20, 2011, at Crossville, TN. He was 71.

Funeral services are 2pmET/1pmCT, Friday June 24, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Bill Warren officiating. Burial is at Allen Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation is Thursday, June 23, 2011, 6pm-9pmET/5pm-80mCT, at the funeral home.



Gene Cornett, Casey Co., KY (1940-2011)

He was born Tuesday, April 23, 1940 in Letcher County, KY, he is the son of the late Cillis and Lillie Rose Lewis Cornett. He died Monday, June 20, 2011, in Crossville, Cumberland Co., TN, at the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 28 days.

He was an Army veteran, retired truck driver, and attended the Liberty Church of God. He was a 50 year member of Nolen Masonic Lodge #806 and a musician with the "Ol Friends" gospel group.

Survivors include his wife , Della Allen Cornett of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Kenneth Eugene (Ann) Cornett of Mason, OH; and Michael Glenn (Lillian) Cornett of Adair Co., KY

  • Two sisters: Nellie Vance of Whitesburg, KY and Barbara Lewis of Cumberland, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Randy, Wade, Brad, Evan and Luke
The McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
