Beverly Sue Cravens Embree, Greenwood, IN (1948-2011)

She had strong Kentucky ties in Columbia, Knifley, and Sano. She leaves many relatives in the Indianapolis, IN area. She was retired from Eli Lily in Indianapolis, IN, after a career of 36 years. She was member of the Meridian Church of God. Her marriage to her devoted husband, Gary Embree, spanned 43 years. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and the joy she gave to others, even the the face of her own long, final struggle for life.

Beverly Sue Embree, 62, of Greenwood, IN, passed away at her home, at 1:55amET, Friday, June 3, 2011.

Friends may call from 4pm to 8pmET/3pm-7pmCT, Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at G. H. Herrmann/MadisonFuneral Home, 5141 Madison AV, Indianapolis, IN (MAP). Services will be held at 11:30amET/10:30amCT, Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Mt.Pleasant Cemetery, 734 N. Morgantown RD, (Glenns Valley) Greenwood, IN.



Beverly Sue Cravens Embree, Greenwood, IN (1948-2011)

She was born December 15, 1948 in Indianapolis, Marion IN. She was the daughter of Jean Waggener Cravens and the late Paul J. Cravens. She died in Greenwood, Johnson Co., IN, Friday, June 3, 2011, at the age of 62 years, 5 months, and 19 days.

Sue retired from Eli Lilly after 36 years. She was a member of Meridian Church of God.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Gary A. Embree, Greenwood, IN, and the following:
  • Mother: Wilma Jean Waggener Cravens, Indianapolis, IN

  • A sister, Beth Ann Cravens, Indianapolis, IN

  • Two brothers: Phillip Glenn Cravens, Indianapolis, IN; and Donald Paul (Elaine) Cravens, Tampa, FL

  • She is survived in Kentucky by the following:

  • Aunts: Fay (L.G.) McKinley, Columbia, KY; and Annette (Jim) Richards, Bowling Green, KY

  • Uncles: Ralph (Glinda) Waggener, and Ed (Linda) Waggener, all of Columbia, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Her father, Dr. Paul Cravens, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Susie (Phillip Glenn) Cravens; and her grandparents, G.M. and Frona Cravens of Sano, KY; and E.P. and Audrey Chelf Waggener of Columbia, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Fund or The Cheer Guild at Riley Hospital for Children.

The G.H. Hermann Funeral Home, 5141 Madison AV, Indianapolis, IN, in charge of arrangements.
