Mr. Garland Brinkley Russell of Grab Community of Green Co., KY departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 68 years, nine months and 29 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Garland Brinkley Russell will be conducted at 11amCT, Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Gary Ervin and Bro. Trent Davis will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4 until 9pmCT, Sunday, May 15, 2011, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday until time of the funeral service.



Garland Brinkley Russell, Green Co., KY (1942-2011)

Mr. Garland Brinkley Russell was the son of the late Clarence Wright and Gladys Simpson Wright. He was born on Tuesday, July 14, 1942 in Green Co., KY, and departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Greensburg, Green Co, KY, at the age of 68 years, nine months and 29 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a truck driver for Buckhorn Block Company.

He united in marriage to Betty Jo Coffey on February 26, 1965 who preceded him in death on January 28, 1995.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four daughters and a son-in-law: Shawn and Mike Bishop of Grab, KY; Margaret "Charlie" Coomer and her companion Pat Cornelison of Columbia, KY; Jessica Waldrop and her companion Steve Smallman of Georgia; and Elizabeth Goss and her companion Edan Clausen of California

  • Ten grandchildren: Shae Bishop and Mikayla Bishop both of Grab Community, Dustin Coomer and Tyler Coomer both of Columbia, KY; Michelle Blakey of Oregon, Loren Goss of California, Brinkley Russell and Kamryn Russell both of Grab Community; Londa Clausen and Terra Clausen both of California

  • A brother: Dorval Price of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Russell was also preceded in death by a son, Brinkley Russell on July 2, 2004.Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross Flood Relief Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
