She was the matriarch of a large, respected Northeast Adair Co., KY family

Dellie Burton, 90, of the Egypt community, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 1:10 amET in the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 5pm, Friday, April 22, 2011, at the funeral home.



Dellie Burton, Adair Co., KY (1920-2011)

She was born Wednesday, August 4, 1920, in Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of he late Ben Irvin and Emma Lee Hardwick Pendleton. She died Thursday, April 23, 2011, in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 17 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Thomas Burton in April 1999 and by a daughter, Helen Faye Rector in April 2001Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Shirley Brockman of Georgia and Lois E. Pendleton of Indiana

  • Three brothers: Wilmer Pendleton of Harrodsburg, KY, and B.I. Pendleton and Rollin Pendleton both of Indiana

  • Two sisters: Pairlee Montgomery of Columbia, Eula Brockman of Indiana

  • Eleven grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren
