Film features Adair Co., KY, native Steve Hamilton All American Basketball player at Morehead State University, Major League Pitcher for the New York Yankees, was born in the Absher/Egypt Community of Adair County, KY By Chelsea Compton News from the Kentucky Historical Society FRANKFORT, KY (April 12, 2011) - The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) will screen "Steve Hamilton: The Father, The Pitcher, The Hero" at 6:30pmET/5:30pmCT, on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, 100 West Broadway, Frankfort, KY. The screening is free with admission to the KHS history campus. The film recounts the life and career of Columbia, Ky. native Steve Hamilton, a Major League Baseball player and Morehead State University graduate. Hamilton pitched for the Yankees in the 1963 and 1964 World Series, and was best known for developing a pitch called the Folly Floater. Students from Morehead State who produced and directed the film will be on hand for a post-screening question-and-answer session. Entrance to all KHS Film Series events is free with admission to the KHS history campus. Free soda and popcorn are provided.
