Slapeka earn MSC Women's Tennis weekly award

Lindsey Wilson College's Trina Slapeka earned Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors, Monday, April 11, 2011.



The award is the second Player of the Week award of this season for Slapeka and the sixth of her career.

The Jurmala, Latvia native lost just two games in two singles' matches, beating her Bethel (TN.) University opponent 6-0, 6-0 and topping Tennessee Wesleyan University 6-2, 6-0. Her doubles' scores were just as dominant, teaming with sophomore Slavica Milanovic to beat Bethel 8-0 and Tennessee Wesleyan 8-1.

The Blue Raiders won both matches during the week to improve to 8-4 overall and 2-0 in the MSC.

Lindsey Wilson Women's Tennis meets Campbellsville (KY) University at 3pmCT on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex at 399 Williams ST, Columbia, KY.
