Bobby Joe Elmore, Casey Co., KY (1944-2011)

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam war and an auto body technician known for his craftsmanship. He was a member of a respected East Casey County family.

Bobby Joe Elmore of King Mountain passed away Thursday April 7, 2011 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY. He was 66.

Funeral services are 2pmET/1pmCT, Monday, April 11, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Rev. Dallon McDonald. Burial will be at Rich Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation is Sunday, April 10, 2011, from 5pm-8pmET/4pm-7pmCT, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and continue Monday from 8amET/7amCT until the funeral service.

He was born Wednesday, December 27, 1944 in Casey Co., KY. He was the son of Geretha Buis Elmore of Kings Mountain and the late Etheridge Elmore. He died Thursday, April 7 2011, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 11 days.

He was a retired auto body technician and Vietnam Marine Corp veteran.

In addition to his mother, survivors include the following:
  • Two sons, Ronnie Joe and (Cassy) Elmore and Adam Elmore both of Liberty, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Tristan, Briar and Meadow

  • Two brothers: Jimmy Elmore of Ohio and Denton Elmore of Kings Mountain, KY

  • Two sisters: Virginia Roy of Texas and Wanda McAninch of Ohio
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two still born infant sons, and a sister, Marcella Leigh.

In lieu of flower, the family has requested donation to Disabled American Veterans.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
