Tonya Murtagh, Dublin, Ireland, NAIA tennis Player of the Week From Chris Megginson/Campbellsville Athletics KANSAS CITY, MO - Tanya Murtagh of Dublin, Ireland, and Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, KY, has been named the NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Murtagh was selected based on her performances from March 28 - April 3, 2011, and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group player of the week selections. Murtagh was perfect in last week's action, winning all three doubles contests with partner Anita Henestrosa and both of her singles matches. The pair defeated Brescia's (KY) Sofia Pacifico and Kelsey Hurrigan, 8-3; Indiana Southeast's Lauren Becher and Abby Enteman, 8-2; and Indiana East's Kristi Henderson and Cheltsi Hinners, 8-0. The freshman hailing from Dublin, Ireland, dropped just one game in singles play last week. Murtagh is 9-1 overall in her individual matches and 9-2 in doubles action.
