CU handbell choir to perform April 15, 2011 By Christina Miller, office assistant CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - The Campbellsville University Handbell Choir, directed by Dr. David Hedrick, assistant professor of music, will present their annual spring concert Friday, April 15, 2011, at 8pmET/7pmCT in the Gheens Recital Hall located in the Gosser Fine Arts Center, located at 210 University DR, Campbellsville. The concert is free and open to the public. The handbell choir will perform selections by J.S. Bach, Mary G. McCleary, Peter Jerome, among others. The music will include hymn arrangements Praise to the Lord and Fairest Lord Jesus. Also on the program will be selections by a small ensemble. The handbell choir is made up of nine students from the surrounding area and out of state. Students are: Danielle Click of Somerset, KY; Jarrod Fenwick of Lebanon, KY; Mary Gray of Owensboro, Ky.; Constance Faith Hellard of Danville, KY; Lisa Lash of Zeeland, MI; Sarah Porter of Harrodsburg, KY; Tiffany Trent of Brandenburg, KY; Joe Webber of Frankfort, KY; and Chris Williams of Columbia, TN. Hedrick is in his sixth year on the CU School of Music faculty in music education and applied voice. He has worked with bell choirs in various churches throughout his 40 year career in church music. He is a published arranger and composer and musical director of The Stephen Foster Story, a summer outdoor musical located at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown, KY.
