Somerset, KY 1st Presbyterian music minister has LWC, CU ties Sida Roberts has served as an adjunct professor of French at Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY. Sida Roberts has been chosen as the Minister of Music at the church. Roberts, who is originally from France, lives in Campbellsville with her husband, M. Wesley Roberts, who teaches at Campbellsville Universitys School of Music. The couple is familiar to Pulaski County residents, since he served as principal organist of Somerset First Baptist Church from 1992 to 1999. His wife and two daughters also assisted there musically on occasion. Sida Roberts earned her Licence Es Lettres in Music from Sorbonne University in Paris. She was awarded a Masters Degree in Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary located in Louisville, Kentucky. She also holds a Masters of Arts Degree in French from the University of Louisville, and received her American citizenship in 1983. Roberts is founder and director of The Elizabethtown Area Sacred Community Choir. She also directs Grace Music Studio in Elizabethtown where she teaches piano and beginning cello. She has most recently served as Choirmaster at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Louisville, in association with her husband at the organ. Her involvement as choral conductor, pianist, and music minister has crossed various evangelical denominations in Kentucky and France through the years. She has also served as an adjunct professor of French at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, at Lindsey Wilson College, and at the State University of New York at Brockport Campus. She homeschooled her own children in the French language as well from nursery to middle school. Somerset First Presbyterian Church is located at 200 North Vine ST, Somerset, KY, behind the Pulaski County Courthouse. The church is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), with headquarters located in Louisville, Kentucky. PCUSA has more than 2 million members with 11,000 congregations in all 50 states.
