She was born in Adair County, KY, a member of a large, highly regarded family with deep roots in Adair and Casey Counties. She was a member of the Dunnville Christian Church and a homemaker. Her final resting place will be in Tabernacle Cemetery, Neatsville, KY.

Margarete Beard Neat, 94, died Tuesday March 29, 2011 at the Liberty Care Center, Liberty, KY. She was 94.

Funeral services are 2pmET/1pmCT, Thursday March 31, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 792 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. Hershel Lawhorn. Burial is at Tabernacle Cemetery, 91 Tabernacle Cemetery RD, Adair Co., KY. Visitation is Thursday, March 31, 2011, 10:30amET/9:30amCT until funeral service at McKinney Brown Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Corey Dial, Troy Emerson, Jamie Black, Todd Wilson , Tommy Downey and Dale Wilson.

Margarete Beard Neat, Casey Co., KY; Adair Co. native (1916-2011)

Born in Adair Co., KY on Wednesday, November 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina Neal Beard. She died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 14 days.She was a homemaker and member of the Dunnville Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Neat; son, Michael Neat; five brothers, Hearld, Homer, Claude, Robert and James Beard; and four sisters, Lora Jones, Irene Thomas, Madeline Tarter and Mary Wolford.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Sheila Wilson of Dunnville, KY; and Karen Downey of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Two step grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • Three step-great-grandchildren

  • And a great-great-grandchild
