Senior class sets school record for most wins for a senior class, with 108-27 record By Chris Megginson / Campbellsville University Athletics Campbellsville University fell behind by 20 in the second half and cut the difference to two, 62-60, on a basket by Whitney Ballinger, but was unable to complete the rally in a 79-74 NAIA quarterfinal loss to Freed-Hardeman University. Ballinger finished the night with 13 points, while senior Courtney Clifton led Campbellsville with 17 points. Danis closed her career by setting the Lady Tigers' record for all-time free throws made (482). She breaks the record held by Becky Smith from 1987-1991. WBCA NAIA Player of the Year Meribeth Boehler led Freed-Hardeman with 35 points, including 22 in the first half. She also had 11 rebounds for a double-double. Natalie Shumpert had 18 points and Whitney Johnson had 15. Freed-Hardeman advances to its third NAIA Fab Four in program history and will face Azusa Pacific University on Monday at 8pmCT in Oman Arena, 179 Lane AV, Jackson, TN . No. 1 Union University will meet Mid-South Conference runner-up Shawnee State University in the other semifinal at 6pmCT. Campbellsville closes its season with a 30-4 record and a school record for most wins by a senior class with a 108-27 record through four years, including three MSC regular season titles, one MSC tournament titles and two NAIA quarterfinal appearances.
