Jim Humphress, Taylor Co., KY, (1935-2011)

A native of Adair Co., KY, he was a member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Adair and Taylor Counties. He was the former owner of the Lucky Vista Motel in Campbellsville and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church.

Jim Humphress, 75, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 9:15amET, Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Joe Hatchett. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/4pmET, Sunday, March 20, 2011, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Harvey Dickens, Mark Dickens, James Prow, Tommy Prow, Tyler Prow, and John Tucker.

Jim Humphress, Taylor Co., KY, (1935-2011)

Jim Humphress was the son of the late Willie Matt Humphress and Matre Knifley Humphress. He was born Monday, August 26, 1935 in Adair Co., KY. He died Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 21 days..He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church.

He was the former owner and operator of Lucky Vista Motel in Campbellsville from 1974 to 1994.

He united in marriage to Jo an Jackson March 9, 1957.

Besides his wife, Jo an Humphress, he is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Vicky and John Tucker of Campbellsville, KY, and and Sheila and Tom Prow of Bowling Green, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Tyler Prow, James Prow and wife Sandra; Abby Prow and Andrea Tucker

  • Two great grandchildren: Abbey Sue Prow and Noah Prow

  • One brother: William Burr Humphress of Greensburg, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Humphress.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, in charge of arrangements.
