Kentucky Elite Kings take 2011 State AAU championship Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Amy Melton The Kentucky Elite Kings came away as Champions in the 6th Grade AAU State Tournament at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington, KY, Sunday, March 13, 2011. The Kings were undefeated in all games played. In pool play. KY Elite beat Matt's Mustangs by a score of 63-55 and Northern Kentucky Celtics 67-16. Tournament play began with a win over the BCK Firebirds 61-12 advancing the Elite to the Elite 8 where they beat the Louisville Lightning by a score of 71-36. For Final Four action, KY Elite defeated Northern Kentucky Magic 51-33 sending them to the championship game. KY Elite became champions with a final score of 62 to 44 over Rob D's All Stars. Team members are Cameron Lasley, Trevor Sams, Jared Sutherland, Corey Melton, Tanner Wells, Kel Stotts, (Coach Greg Lundy), Colin Langford, Jamison Summers, Chance Melton, and John Davis. Official cheerleaders are Brooklyn Coomer, Holly Pyles, Hannah Absher, and Emily Pyles. Kentucky Elite would like to thank the fans from Adair County who came to support them.
