Query: Mike Bennett needs information on Flatwoods SBC Congregation lost early records in a house fire; now trying to reconstruct in time for 50th Anniversary of Church. See also: REUNIONS By Mike Bennett News from Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church My name is Mike Bennett and I am a deacon at Flatwoods Separate Baptist Church, 5690 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY. This year is the 50th anniversary of this church and we are looking for information from the surrounding communities. Many years ago, our early church records were lost in a house fire so only partial information is available from the early years of the church. We have only one original member left and she has shared lots of information about the history of the church. Last week, by chance I met someone who told me he preached his first sermon here years ago. This got me to thinking that there might be similar stories out there. Perhaps your parents or grandparents attended, or you came to revival, homecoming, or bible school as a child. Please help us gather information. We are especially looking for early church history and photos of facilities and members. Anyone with info they would like to share can call, email or regular mail. I am even willing to come to you to do an interview. Thank you, Mike Bennett 856 Jones Chapel RD Columbia, KY 42728 (270) 384-6391 E-mail: m1bennett@hotmail.com Directory of Churches Listing FLATWOODS SEPARATE BAPTIST CHURCH, 5690 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY. 5 miles from Columbia, KY on South Hwy. 61 (Burkesville RD).
