Genneive Tarter, 92, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4pmET, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service was at 11amET, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Parrot &Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Paul W. Patton. Burial is in the Parrott-Turner-Dabney Addition to Brookside Cemetery, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Dakota Adams, David Adams, David Wayne Adams, III, Terry Chewing, and Chris Tarter.

Genneive Tarter, Taylor Co., KY (1918-2011)

Genneive Tarter was the daughter of the late Griffin B. Chewning and Cecil Ella Todd Chewning. She was born in Taylor Co., KY,, May 20, 1918. She died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was a former employee of Penn & Ratcliffe Store and Caulk Furniture.

She united in marriage to Elbert Tarter November 18, 1946. He preceded her indeath in November 26, 1991.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Lyndi Tarter of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Ann Tarter of Florida; Chris Tarter and wife, Jenna of Tennessee; Lori Christensen and husband, Kevin of Kansas and Tricia Adams and husband, David of Georgetown, KY

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • One brother and two sisters: Bobby Chewning and wife, Peggy, Mary Jean Jeffries and husband, Cosby and Pauline Kerr of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Clark March 22, 1994 and one brother and two sisters: William Chewning, Alma Philpott and Katherine Chewning in infancy.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to the American Cancer Society and may be made at the funeral home.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
