Marguerite Macie Douglas, Casey Co., KY (1919-2011)

She was a member of a large, respected Casey Co., KY, family, a homemaker, and a member of the Willow Springs United Methodist Church. She was retired after a career with National Distillers in Ohio

Marguerite Macie Ponder Douglas 91, of Liberty, died Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Liberty Care Center, LIberty, KY.

Funeral service is 2pmET/1pmCT, Sunday, March 6, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. David Bennett. Burial is in Willow Springs Cemetery, on Old Clear Branch RD, Liberty, KY. Visitation is Saturday, March 5, 2011, 6pm-9pmET/5pm8pmCT, at the funeral home with Eastern Star service at 7pmET/6pmCT.



Marguerite Macie Douglas, Casey Co., KY (1919-2011)

Born October 27, 1919 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Marcus D. and Flora Ellen Hogue Ponder. She died Thursday March 3, 2011 in LIberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 4 days.

She was the widow of Marcus Ray Douglas.

Mrs. Douglas was a homemaker and retired from National Distillers in Ohio. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Willow Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three daughters: Patricia Lou Simpson of Liberty, KY; Billye ( and LJ) Watson of Liberty, KY; and Cathy (and Rodney) Buis of Stanford, KY

  • A son: Gary Edward Douglas of Sharonville, OH

  • Eight grandchildren: Bret Simpson, Bryon Simpson, Carla Wright, Pamela Douglas, Alissa Clark, Josh Watson, Brandon Buis and Adam Buis

  • And seven great-grandchildren: Kimberly Simpson, Kristina Simpson, Luchin Wright, Darbi Mae Wright, Gunnar Wright, Samuel Clark, and Lily Buis.

  • In addition to her parents and spouse, she is also preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Alford, Marcus and David Ponder and three sisters, Bonnie Wesley, Martha Herrin and Virginia Vest and great-grandson Keegan Buis.

    In lieu of flowers, the family have requested memorial in Mrs. Douglas honor to Casey County Public Library , Alzheimer's Association or charity of your choice.

    McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, in charge of arrangements.
