NWS issues Flood Watch for area including CM 7-County area

At 3:28amET/2:28amCT, Friday, March 4, 2011, the National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of the 7-County area, and at the same time issued a Flood Watch which includes Adair County plus Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor Counties in addition to counties in a much wider area of Kentucky and Indiana. The Flood Watch is in effect from now through Saturday evening, March 5, 2011.

An NWS Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on the current forecasts. The state urges those living in the areas to monitor later forecasts for possible Flood Warnings. "Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop."
