The funeral service for Joe Coomer will be Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2pmCT. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST (MAP), Columbia, KY, with Bro. Greg Smith officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 9amCT, Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the funeral home. Joe Coomer, Adair Co., KY native (1931-2011) Joe Coomer, of Fairdale, KY, was born in Adair County on Wednesday, February 4, 1931. He was the son of the late Rollin and Fannie Stotts Coomer. He died Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in Fairdale, Jefferson Co., KY at the age of 80 years , and 5 days. He was a retired employee for Georgia Pacific, a volunteer firefighter for Fairdale Fire Department for 35 years, serving as Assistant Chief for 15 years and was a volunteer at Audubon Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Scott Coomer on August 23, 2007. Survivors include the following:
