CJE, Mayor to host Veterans Memorial Bypass breakfast Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story Adair County Judge Executive and Columbia Mayor Mark D. Harris have issued an invitation to all veterans and an accompanying guest to come to a Veterans' Appreciation Breakfast, Monday, February 14, 2011, from 8am-9:30amCT, Adair County Annex Basement, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. The breakfast precedes the dedication of the "Veterans' Memorial Bypass" at 10amCT. More details on the dedication to take place at the Adair County Veteran's Memorial Bypass sign at the North Terminus of the Bypass will be announced later. Gov. Steve Beshear has been invited to be one of the speaker, but that his office has indicated he will not be able to attend. Judge Melton said that Adair County' s Hilda Legg, a candidate for her party's nomination for Secretary of State, has indicated that she will accept an invitation to speak. Judge Melton also plans to will extend an invitation to Governor Beshear's likely November opponent, Senate President David Williams, to be a speaker. In addition to the County Judge Executive and the Mayor, one other local speaker will be invited to speak, she said. Those planning to attend are encouraged to call the Judge's office at (270) 384-2730. It is not absolutely essential, Judge Melton said, "But we are limited to 120 seats in the Basement Meeting room and it would help us plan."
