NEXT: Lindsey Wilson hosts Pikeville College at 4pmCT on Saturday, January 29, 2011, against Pikeville (KY) College at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard DR (MAP) , Columbia, KY By Dan White, Assistant Sports Information Director News from Lindsey Wilson College Columbia, KY - From the 12-minute mark to the end of the first half, the Lindsey Wilson College mens basketball team outscored the University of Virginias College at Wise 35-4 on its way to a 78-62 win against the Cavaliers on Thursday at Biggers Sports Center. Junior Justin Archie and senior Brandon Clemons led the Blue Raiders with 13 points each and sophomore Kalen Kimberland and junior Charles Baker each added 11 points. Baker also paced the team with 10 rebounds. Travis Berry scored 18 points for UVa.-Wise (9-10, 3-7 MSC) and Sam Eligwe and Norris Gaskins each added 11. The 35-4 first-half run helped Lindsey Wilson (15-5, 6-3 MSC) enter halftime with a 43-14 lead. A strong effort by the Cavaliers brought them back within fighting distance in the second half as they outscored the Blue Raiders 48-35. A late three-pointer by Archie proved to be the dagger near the games final minute to put the Cavaliers out of reach. Turnovers doomed UVa.-Wise, committing 17 in the game with just seven assists. Lindsey Wilson dished out 20 assists with just 11 turnovers including an error-free floor game from Kimberland with three assists. Neither team shot extremely well, with Lindsey Wilson holding a 42.6 to 36.5 advantage from the field. The Blue Raiders did knock down 9-of-22 3-pointers for 40.9 percent.
