Obituary: Lula Redmon Simpson, 97, Adair Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected East Adair County family, the widow of Schyler Simpson, a member of Freedom Separate Baptist Church, and a homemaker.

Lula Simpson age 97 years a resident of Maple Manor Christian Home, in Sellersburg, IN formerly of Russell Springs Road, Columbia, KYpassed away Friday January 21, 2011 at 10:45pmCT at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, IN.

The funeral service is Monday January 24, 2011 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY withBro. Carlie Riggs and Bro. Richie Curtis the officiating clergy.Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery, 576 Freedom Church RD (MAP), Columbia, KY. Visitation after 2:30pmCT Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the funeral home.



Lula Redmon Simpson, Adair Co., KY (1913-2011)

She was born on Saturday, February 1, 1913. She was the daughter of the late David "Reason" and Martha Jane Judd Redmon. She died January 21, 2011, in Sellersburg, Clark Co., IN, at the age of 97 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

He was the widow of Schyler Simpson, who preceded her in deathOctober 14, 1994.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Jr. Simpson of Columbia, KY; Alvis Simpson and wife Faye of Louisville, KY; and Robert Simpson and wife Karin of Lanesville, IN

  • One sister: Galena Rooks of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren Rodney Redmon and wife Michelle, Mike Simpson and wife Ann and Angela Toler and husband Jason

  • Five great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of Freedom Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker.Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangement
