Obituary: Doug Kerns, 54, Columbia, KY

He was a member of a respected Adair County family, a former carpenter, and of the Baptist faith.

Doug Kerns, 54, of Columbia, KY, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST (MAP), Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Landis officiating. Burial in Kerns Cemetery, 2125 Allen Schoolhouse RD (MAP), Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pm, Monday, January 17, 2011.



Doug Kerns, Adair Co., KY (1956-2011)

Doug Kerns was born Tuesday, July 10, 1956 and died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the age of 54 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

Survivors include the following:
  • His mother: Dorothy Kerns of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Joey Kerns of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: Terry and wife Wanda Kerns of Columbia, Steve and wife Tina Kerns of Knifley, KY

  • Two sisters: Janice Casey of Louisville, Debbie and husband Andy Withers of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Keely Leona Kerns, Emily Marie Kerns, Felicity Lane Kerns, and Taylor Lee Dunn

  • Six nieces, six nephews, three great-nieces, seven great-nephews

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
He was former carpenter and of the Baptist faith.
