Shamarie Claiborne: Pictures, God's Paradise

Click on headline for two-photo essay

There's just two photos, but they capture and say so much about the beauty of what writer/photographer calls, "This corner of God's Paradise," which includes not only the Topside, on New Concord Road toward Garlin, but also Old Clearsprings RD toward Ozark, and what she calls "The World," The Holler, down in the valley, down on the creek, one of Kentucky's most idyllic landscapes.

Lonely Tree on Snowy Day: Shamarie Claiborne writes, "Today I came into the holler from the New Concord side. It is seldom that I drive that path anymore just because our world revolves around Hwy 80. I have forgotten how beautiful it is this time of year and how noticeable the sunset change is from winter to summer. Just thought I would share our 'lonely tree' on the other side of the world."
