Obituary: Lucy Evelyn Hopper, 92

She was a member of a highly regarded Windsor, KY, family. She was the widow of Rev. Okla Hopper, a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker

Lucy Evelyn Hopper, 92, KY 910, Windsor, KY, formerly of the Hoppertown Community, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Somerset Nursing and Rehab Center, Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at 10amCT, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Lloyd Hopper and Bro. James Powell the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Monday, January 10, 2011, at the funeral home.




Pallbearers: Stuart Roy, Chase Roy, Logan Coomer, Brandon Minton, Danny Luttrell, and Spencer Roy.

Lucy Evelyn Hopper, Russell Co., KY (1918-2011)

Lucy Evelyn Hopper was born Monday, July 22, 1918, in Russell Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Alia Wade Garner and Charlie Garner. She died Saturday, January 8, 2011, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

She was the widow of the late Rev. Okla Hopper.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Coffey's Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Alice (Basil) Roy, Windsor, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Denise (Doug) Coomer, Columbia, KY; and Tony (Carla) Roy, Windsor, KY

  • Five great grandchildren: Mackenzie (Brandon) Minton, Logan Coomer, Stuart Roy, Chase Roy, and Spencer Roy

  • One great great grandson: Brandon Minton

  • One sister: Esther Sparks, Louisville, KY
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Erlich and Hugh Garner.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
