Obituary: Andrew Wright, Jr., 66, Adair Co., KY

He was a native of Pike Co., KY and was a welder for General Motors. He served in the US Marine Corps and will be accorded full military honors by VFW Post 6097

The funeral service will be Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY (MAP), with Rev. Gene Conover officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, 8147 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY (MAP), with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097Visitation after 7pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011, and all day Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the funeral home.



Andrew Wright, Jr., Adair Co. KY (1944-2011)

A native of Pike Co., KY, he was born Monday, July 24, 1944 to the late Andrew and Draxie Elkins Wright. He died Monday, January 3, 2011, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 66 years, 5 months, and 10 days.

He was a welder for General Motors, served his Country in the US Marines and attended the Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Lowe Wright, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Donnie Dwayne Wright of Glasgow, Jamie Wright of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters: Greta Sue Wright of Columbia, Lisa Ann Flynn and Sheilah Splan both of Michigan

  • One brother: Roger Wright of Letcher Co., kY

  • Four sisters: Shirley Conley of Greensburg, Vivian Collins of Dorton, KY, Mary Kendrick of Pike County, Osa Stanley of Hart Co., KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • One great grandchild
