Obituary: Irene Morgan, 93, Columbia, KY

She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County family and the widow of the late Arvest Morgan. She was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and was a clerk at Marshall's Shoe Store for many years.

Irene Morgan, 93, of Columbia, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 10:15amCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Bradley Miller, Jimmy Akin, Rick Rogers, Billy Decker, Clay Hild, Cory Decker, Ralph Shearer, Wayne Davidson.

Irene Morgan, Adair Co., KY (1917-2010)

She was born November 5, 1917 in Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Georgia Moran Stotts. She died Sunday, January 2, 2011, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 93 years, 1 months, and 28 days.

She was the widow of Arvest Morgan, a member of Columbia Christian Church and was a clerk at Marshall's Shoe Store for many years.Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Brenda Decker of LouisvilleSix grandchildren: Vickie Davidson, Ralph Shearer, Kim Sills, Billy Decker, Cory Decker and Jennifer Decker all of Louisville, KY

  • Thirteen great-grandchildren

  • Two great-great grandchildren

  • Several other relatives and friends

  • Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, in charge of arrangements.
