Obituary: Vernison Roy, Dunnville, KY 84

He was retired from General Electric and attended Thomas Ridge Christian Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a World War II veteran. He will be accorded military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad

Vernison Roy, 84 died Thursday December 23, 2010 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service is 2pmET/1pmCT, Tuesday December 28, 2010, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. Bill Welker. Burial will be at Thomas Ridge Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation is Monday, December 27, 2010, from 6-9pmET/5-8pmCT, at funeral home.



Vernison Roy, Dunnville, KY (1926-2010)

Vernison Roy was born Monday, November 22, 1926 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH. He was the son of the late Willie and Anna Schloss Roy. He died Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 1 day.

He was a WWII Army veteran, was retired from General Electric, and attended the Thomas Ridge Christian Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include wife, Mary Thomas Roy of Dunnville, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter:Judy Kerrigan of Florida

  • Two sons: Gary Vernison Roy of Indiana and Monty Joseph Roy of Russell Springs, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Chris and Andrew Rexroat, Christy Curry, and Brian, Aaron and Matthew Roy

  • A great-grandchild: Duncun Curry

  • Three brothers: Earl and Durward Roy of Ohio and Herley Roy of Dunnville, KY

  • And two sisters: Bernice Luttrell of Dunnville, KY and Inice Price of Ohio
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Major Roy.

McKinley-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, in charge of arrangements.
