Obituary: Ersie Pearl Delk, 82, Owensboro, KY

She was a Pulaski Co., KY, native and a former resident of Russell Co., KY. She was a homemaker and a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She followed her husband, Rev. Henry Everett Delk, in the ministry services for 50 years

Ersie Pearl Delk, 82, Owensboro, KY, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Red Banks Nursing Home in Henderson, KY.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT, Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Arnold Moon the officiating clergy. Burial Will be in Wilkerson Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 24, 2010, after 10amCT at the funeral home.



Ersie Pearl Beasley Delk, formerly of Russell Co., KY (1928-2010)

Ersie Pearl Beasley Delk, Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY, formerly of Russell Co., KY, was born in Pulaski Co., KY, on Thursday, May 24, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Haley Parton Beasley and Virgil Beasley. She died Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in Henderson, Henderson Co., KY at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She followed her husband in the ministry services for 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Henry Everett Delk, Owensboro, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Terry (Melody) Delk, Owensboro, KY

  • Three daughters: Jean (Larry) Richard; Anna (Tom) Gage; and Rebecca (Mark) Stafford, all of Owensboro

  • Nine grandchildren: Ginny Lou (Pete) Carmony, Tanya (Jason) Price, Scott Delk, Jennifer Lynn, Kristen (Russell) Lawson, Jerry Brooker, John Bess, Cindy Hubbard, and Cynthia Prather

  • Eight great grandchildren: Amy Carmony, Carter Hubbard, Mindy (Ryan) Cosby, Kenton Hibbard, Morgan Price, Maribel Price, Ailie Price, and Gracie Pearl Lawson

  • A special niece: Lois Rader

  • One sister: Bernice Childress, Dunnville, KY
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Estell, Millard, Leonard, Doyal and Everett, and by six sisters, Berthie, Gertrude, Dori, Irene, Bessie and Aldena.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, 300 Clear Creek RD, Pineville, KY.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
