He was a member of a large, respected family with deep roots in the Sano Community of Adair and Russell Counties, KY

Gerald O. Carter, 63, of Russell Springs, KY, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 2:46pm. at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday., December 1, 2010 at 2pmCT,. at Free Union Separate Baptist Church, 4642 Sano RD, in Adair Co., KY, Sano Community, with Bro. Jim Goff officiating. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery, by the church. Visitation after 5pmCT Tuesday, November 29, 2010, and from 6am-11amCT, Wednesday, November 30, 2010,, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, and after 12pm Noon, CT, Wednesday at the church.



Gerald O. Carter, Russell Springs, KY (1947-2010)

He was born Saturday, February 8, 1947, in Adair Co., KY. He was the son of the late Virgil and Vernie Sullivan Carter. He died Sunday, November 28, 2010, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY, at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 20 days.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Joan Helm Carter of Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter and son in law: Tammy and Shane Morrison of Columbia, KY

  • One son and daughter in law: Randy and Kathy Carter of Columbia KY

  • Two step-sons and spouses: Vernon and Rachel Keith of Columbia, Vernon Wayne and Lisa Keith of Jamestown KY

  • Two step-daughters: Roslin Giles and Dorslen and husband Joe Kean all of Russell Springs KY

  • Two sisters and brothers in law: Bea and Larkie Smith of Burlington, KY, Myrla and Glen Jent of Jackson, MS

  • Two grandchildren: Dustin and Jacob Morrison

  • Eight step-grandchildren: Amber and Daniel Hagerty, Joshua Giles, Jared Wright, Wayne, Crystal, Kevin and Keith Murrell

  • Two step great grandchildren
