He was a highly regarded Baptist minister. He was a former pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Adair Co., KY and of Green's Chapel Baptist Church in Jamestown, KY

Rev. Joseph Kent, Jr., 82, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Hodgenville, KY died Friday, November 26, 2010 at 9:10pmET at his residence in Louisville, KY

The funeral service for Rev. Joseph Kent will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 12 noon ET at First Baptist Church in Hodgenville, KY, with Rev. Albert Taylor delivering the eulogy.Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 10amET, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the church.



Rev. Joseph Kent, LaRue Co., KY (1928-2010)

He was born Friday, November 9, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph and Henrietta Martindale Kent. He died Friday, November 26, 2010, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 82 years and 17 days.

Rev. Kent was Pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Adair Co., KY, Green's Chapel Baptist Church in Jamestown, KY, and Golden Star Baptist Church in Louisville, KY for many years and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife. Bernice Zinn Kent of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Joseph Kent, III of Huntsville, Alabama, Bobby Kent of San Antonio, TX and Ricky Kent of Florida

  • Four daughters: Peggy Riley, Priscilla Dulin and Loretta Kent all of Louisville, KY; and Marilyn Wolford of Irving, TX

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • and 12 great-grandchildren
