Obituary: Robert W. Smith, 84, Taylor Co., KY

He was of the Catholic faith and was a Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator in the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired professional fireman and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Robert W. Smith, 84, of Woodstock, GA, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Woodstock, GA.

Graveside services will be at 2pmET/1pmCT., Sunday, November 28, 2010, at the Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in Campbellsville, KY.



Robert W. Smith, Woodstock, GA (1926-2010)

Robert W. Smith was the son of the late Howard Smith and Ethel Myers Smith. He was born in Jonstown, New York, March 9, 1926 and died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Woodstock, Cherokee Co., GA.He was of the Catholic faith. He was Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator in the Knights of Columbus.

He was a retired professional Fireman for Gloversville, New York and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.He united in marriage to June M. Beman April 10, 1948.

Besides his wife, June Smith of Woodstock, GA, he is survived by the following:
  • One son, Robert F. Smith and wife, Alice of Marietta, GA
  • Four granddaughters: Heidi Reese, Hillary Fitzpatrick, Jetta Smith, and Kendra Smith
  • Four great-grandchildren

  • One brother and one sister: Buddy Smith and Barbara Smith

  • Several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Smith.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY in charge of arrangements.
