Obituary: Betty Carol Sexton, 67, Columbia, KY

She was a member of a highly regarded Western Adair County Family. She was a homemaker and a member of Prices Creek Baptist Church. Her marriage to Benny Sexton of Columbia, KY, who survives, endured 50 years

Betty Carol Sexton age 67 of Columbia, Kentucky died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Monday, November 22, 2010 at Prices Creek Baptist Church, 2116 Prices Creek RD in Adair Co., KY, with burial in the Bragg Cemetery, 100 Bragg Cemetery RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be from 1pmCT until 8pmCT Sunday, November 21 and after 9amCT Monday, November 22, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY.



She was the daughter of the late Gilliam H. and Carrie Morrison Stotts. She was a homemaker and member of the Prices Creek Baptist Church.She is survived by her husband of 50 years Benny Sexton of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Four children: Beverly (David) Brackens of Franklin, TN; Kimberly (Michael) Harper of Gainesville, GA; David (Shannon) Sexton of Smyrna, TN: and Dwight Sexton of Columbia, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: John Brackins, Elizabeth Brackins, Andrew Brackens, Jennifer (Collin) Jaeger, Michael (Kayla) Harper Jr., Benjamin Sexton, Sarah Sexton and Granville Sexton

  • One great grandchild: Mellisa Jaeger

  • One brother: Carlos (Frieda) Stotts of Sparksville, KY

  • A sister in law: Carol Stotts

  • A brother in law: Stanford Yarberry
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers James and Milford Stotts and one sister, Pearl Yarberry.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
