Obituary: Mr. Bernard Perkins, Green Co., KY

He was a school teacher and was retired from Tennessee Gas. He was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and an Army Veteran of World War II.

Mr. Bernard Perkins, 88, Greensburg, KY, departed this life Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W. Court ST, Greensburg, KY, at 12pm noon CT, Monday, November 22, 2010, with Rev. Freddie Norris the officiating clergy. Organist will be Bettie Jo Russell. Visitation will be 12:30pm-6pm Sunday, November 21, 2010, and after 7amCT, Monday. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery in Green Co., KY.



Pallbearers: J. T. Stearman, Roger Stearman, Bill Colvin, H.W. Nunn, Brian Simpson, and Shelby Brown.

Mr. Bernard Perkins, Greensburg, KY (1922-2010)

Mr. Bernard Perkins was born Monday, January 10, 1922, in Green Co., KY. He was the son of the late Ernest Perkins and Mary Marcum Perkins. He departed this life Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY, the age of eighty-eight years, ten months and ten days.

Mr. Bernard Perkins had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a school teacher and retired from Tennessee Gas. He was also an Army Veteran of World War II. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Alma McHaurn Perkins.

Mr. Perkins is survived by the following:
  • One sister: Agnes Noe, and one niece Margaret "Rocky" Nunn both of Greensburg, KY

  • One great niece and one great nephew; Lisa Simpson of Greensburg, and H.W. Nunn of Louisville, KY
  • Five great-great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Donations can be made at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home to the American Cancer Society or to Gideons International.
