Ivy Jewel Rowe Reece, 91, of Columbia, died Sunday October 24, 2010 at 1:42pmCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital, in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11amCT at Sparksville Church of the Nazarene, 9662 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY with Bro. Lonny Karnes and Bro. Paul Kingrey officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, 8147 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, after 3pmCT and after 6am Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, and after 9amCT,Wednesday, at the church.



Ivy Jewel Rowe Reece, Adair Co., KY (1919-2010)

She was born Tuesday, July 8, 1919, in Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Avery and Lillie Janes England. She died Sunday, October 24, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by herhusbands Ray Rowe and Sellie Reece, by three children and a daughter-in-law; Chelsie and Lillie Rowe, Elmore Rowe, and Jean Abston; by one brother, Avery England, four half-brothers and a half-sister: Earon, Jay, and Charles Wheeler, Jack Patton and Regina Loy.

She was a founding member of Sparksville Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Gladys Walterham of Campbellsville, KY

  • One son: Donnie (Gayle) Rowe of Columbia, KY

  • One step-daughter: Barbara (Bill) Lile of Greensburg, KY

  • A son-in-law: Lloyd Abston of Edmonton, KY

  • One sister: Rita Osborne of Louisville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Sandra (Ronnie) VanArsdale, Anita (Joe) VanArsdale, Dennis Rowe, Timmy (Pam) Abston, Pam (Jeff) Lucas, Jan (George) Atwood, Glenn (Kathy) Vance, Mike Vance, Donald (Suzanne) Rowe

  • Several step-grandchildren

  • Thirteen great-grandchildren

  • Two great-grandchildren
Memorials are suggested to her church and may be left at the funeral home.
